Rare Autographed Photo Wm. Rothery Columbian Exposition Commissioner to Liberia australia 1850s and 1860sRare original cabinet photo (8. 5" x 5. 25" boudoir mount) of Colonel William Elmendorf Rothery (1851 1932), photographed at one of the dwellings in the Liberian Exhibit at the 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition Chicago World's Fair. Rothery was a successful businessman, newspaper editor and diplomat, appointed U. S. Consul to Liberia, and in 1892 was chosen to be Liberian Commissioner to the World's Fair. The photographer was Rotherys' future wife,
